Colin Guare

Colin Guare is a 25 year old aspiring writer and commercial fisherman who lives in the Seacoast of New Hampshire. The favorite (albeit only) son of Dr. Guare, Colin’s writing on teen and young adult development is informed not only by observation and research, but also by work and personal experience. Diagnosed with ADD at a young age, Colin is intimately familiar with the problems and potential solutions facing kids and adults who struggle with executive skills deficits. Additionally, Colin has extensive experience as a substitute teacher, full time paraprofessional, and respite care provider in public schools and local communities, working with children with autism, learning disorders, and executive skills shortfalls. He hopes that his writing for the books and website will help bring Dr. Dawson and Dr. Guare’s wealth of knowledge on executive functioning to bear in real world scenarios. An avid rower and reader, Colin enjoys spending time with friends and family. He currently works as a deckhand on the fishing vessel Ellen Diane, and is rarely happier than when he is out on the water.
